SANDUSKY — In a quiet corner of Sandusky, Dennis Murray Sr.—the patriarch of the Murray & Murray firm and a man who speaks of the Constitution with the reverence of a holy text—is detailing what he calls a “dirty deal.”

At the center of the storm is the Sortino case, a legal saga that began with the State of Ohio essentially seizing the private beaches of 15,500 property owners and ended with a settlement so lopsided it defies logic. George Sortino, of Sandusky, is one of those property owners.
