AG Wilson hiding records to protect bad cops?
He's keeping the public in the dark about homicide investigations, assault, rape, theft, domestic violence reports
SANDUSKY — Huron County Prosecutor Jim Sitterly and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office appear to be shielding another bad cop from prosecution after a criminal suspect he was investigating allegedly secretly recorded him having sex with her, “under the color of the badge.”
Sitterly refuses to speak publicly about why no charges have been filed since former Erie County sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Orzech quit after the video of the sexual encounter was discovered. To avoid a conflict, Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth immediately asked both the FBI and the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation to investigate Orzech after Orzech was accused in April 2025.
“His behavior was ethically corrupt. He’s a professional disgrace,” Sigsworth said, expressing some frustration. “I’m very disappointed that prosecution has not yet been undertaken but I’m hopeful it will occur in the near future and that he’s punished to the full extent of the law for any crimes he’s convicted of in conjunction with with this incident.”
