Ashli Ford couldn't control her violent temper
Convicted podcaster transforms from enforcer, to expert witness, to plaintive victim for her different criminal trials
SANDUSKY — Ashli Ford has a history of uncontrolled, violent behavior that scares people, according to statements made by the podcaster herself.
“When people dared to cross boundaries with me, they were met with physical violence,” Ford said during a podcast in 2024. “I reacted with such an unexpected level of force that I leveled them before they ever balled their fists.”
Unlike the strategy she is using to fight a banking fraud case in criminal court next month—claiming everyone is out to get her and that she is the true victim—Ford’s defense strategy two years ago in another criminal case was edgy, hard-charging, and tinged with threats of violence.
She’s suggested she’s a jury expert in 87 counties across Ohio, who is routinely called in on high-profile cases. However, she has consistently failed to cite a single court case in which she served as an expert witness or jury consultant, nor has she provided any documentation or credentials to support the claims. Ford also claims to be a journalist, a criminal investigator, and a crime victims advocate, while simultaneously acknowledging she possesses no formal training or credentials in those fields.
Her attorney, Peter Pattakos, has declined to provide an explanation for these claims. Instead, he has suggested that Ford is like the Greek high priestess Cassandra—dedicated to the god Apollo and fated to utter only true prophecies, but cursed never to be believed.
