Ashli Ford praised for her ‘4 minutes of fame’ on 20/20
ABC News didn’t vet convicted podcaster’s credibility during Friday’s segment
MILAN — There was no comment from Ashli Ford Saturday after ABC News’ 20/20 program aired a segment featuring roughly four minutes of interview time with her, during which she took credit for solving the 2001 homicide of Regina Rowe Hicks.
ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts did not question Ford’s credibility or mention her prior criminal convictions on intimidation charges during the broadcast. Furthermore, the segment omitted any mention of Ford’s upcoming trial in Erie County Common Pleas Court, scheduled in two weeks, where she faces felony fraud and forgery charges.
