Ashli Ford used forged signature to get $150k loan, prosecutors say

After leaving husband and marrying again, podcaster kept ex-'s name on the mortgage

SANDUSKY — Ashli Ford, a Milan woman with a long paper trail of complicated relationships and property disputes, now faces five felony charges that prosecutors say center on forged mortgage documents worth more than $150,000.

Investigators allege Ford forged her former husband’s signature in September 2022 to reinstate and modify a loan on the couple’s former home at 504 Mason Road East, according to bill of particulars filed Thursday in Erie County Common Pleas Court. By submitting the disputed documents, prosecutors say, she was able to halt a foreclosure and secure new financing.

Ashli Ford’s ex-husband, identified in court records as P.B., has told authorities he did not sign the documents and did not authorize anyone else to do so, the filing states. A notary public has also denied witnessing the signatures. A state forensic examiner concluded there was “support for different source” when comparing P.B.’s genuine signatures with the questioned ones.
