Defense motion argues prosecutor is a 'complaining witness' with a conflict of interest
SANDUSKY — When Ashli Ford was arraigned in July on forgery and mortgage fraud charges, she told Erie County Common Pleas Judge Beverly McGookey she wanted McGookey removed from her case.
Now, an attorney for Ford has filed a court motion to remove the Erie County Prosecutor’s office from the case, arguing that Prosecutor Kevin Baxter is a “complaining witness” and therefore has a conflict of interest.
