NORWALK — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost backed down Thursday afternoon, after trying since Monday to keep the prosecution’s court case against Fred Reer Jr. secret.

Just hours after a Powerpoint presentation was entered into evidence in State vs. Reer, Yost claimed the records were exempt from the state’s Public Records Act and would not be made available to reporters.

StayTunedSandusky.com pushed back, arguing that Yost’s attempt was a clear violation of the law. What he was attempting “borders on the preposterous,” the newspaper told Yost.
