SANDUSKY — Ashli Ford failed to show any real reason for a judge to remove him from her felony forgery trial next month, according to a court motion filed last week by Erie County Prosecutor Kevin Baxter.

“Baxter is not the complaining witness in this case, (Ford’s ex-husband), the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and Rushmore Loan Management Services are the victims,” Baxter wrote in his response to a filing earlier from Peter Pattakos, Ford’s defense counsel, seeking to have him removed. “He did not, as defendant Ford contends, ‘direct the criminal investigation in this matter.’”
