SANDUSKY — A viral post in a at a Cedar Point community page has put a spotlight on Six Flags corporate employment practices following allegations raised by a decorated military veteran turned performer.

Shane Jernigan, a former U.S. Army Ranger, adaptive sports instructor, and amputee, took to social media to allege that his employment at Cedar Point was abruptly terminated in retaliation for raising concerns about workplace accommodations and rights protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Jernigan was hired by the Sandusky amusement park as a seasonal character performer—specifically taking on the role of a “one-legged pirate”. However, according to Jernigan, the reality behind the scenes diverged sharply from the park’s public-facing entertainment operations.
