NORWALK — County attorneys want a judge to force the Ohio Attorney General to release grand jury testimony and unseal sealed search warrants, claiming those records will clear them of wrongdoing for failing to investigate the murder of Amanda Dean in 2017.
It’s a major procedural showdown in the federal civil rights lawsuit filed against Huron County Sheriff Todd Corbin and nine of his deputies by Dean’s family. Her killer was convicted last year after the state launched a separate investigation and followed an evidence trail provided to them by a local advocate, Tracy Thom.
