NORWALK — There’s plenty of proof the Huron County Sheriff’s Office has a long and terrible history of botching criminal investigations. In just the last few years, two solved cold cases—the Amanda Dean homicide in 2017 and the murder of Regina Hicks in 2002—are proof of that.

If the sheriff’s office steps aside, murders get solved.
