SANDUSKY — Early viewing data from the Sandusky and Perkins Township candidate debates show mixed results for audience interest, depending on the topic.

The most-watched clip from Tuesday’s Sandusky City Commission debate, sponsored by the Greater Sandusky Partnership, featured a candidate discussing the city’s home repair grant program, drawing 283 views within a short time.

“We have to increase that contribution to at least triple that,” candidate Tim Schwanger said, talking about the city’s $3,000 home improvement grant for residents.
In another highly viewed clip, “Sandusky’s Missed Opportunities,” Schwanger also suggested that Mills School bas a better choice for a city rec center.

The Perkins Township debate, held an hour later and attended by roughly half as many people, produced a similar range of interest. The top-viewed Perkins clip, “Flooding Issues in the Township,” reached 381 views.
“We have the tremendous flooding problems in certain areas of the township that need to be rectified,” challenger Lisa Crescimao said. “I think in order to do that we need to work with the Erie County Engineer’s office, the Erie County Soil and Water and work with the residents and listen to the residents.”
