SANDUSKY — Early voting gets underway today and local election officials are encouraging community members to plan ahead when casting their ballots.
“Don’t wait,” said Alex Jones, director of the Erie County Board of Elections. “The earlier you come, the less busy it is.”
Jones said during his time at the board early voting has been a regular part of the routine. The closer it gets to Election Day, the busier it gets, he said.
“We’ll know a lot about how early voting will go after (today),” he said.
Early voting starts at 8 a.m.
Next week, board offices also will be open Monday (Columbus Day) with normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend hours are Saturday, October 24 and Saturday, October 31 from 8 a.m until 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Voters seeking specific schedule details, registration checks, sample ballots, or polling locations can access resources directly through the Erie County Board of Elections website. Local residents with questions can also reach out to the Board of Elections by phone at 419-627-7602.
