Elections Board doesn't approve Stidham for ballot
Question whether he can be candidate for 89th House District seat to be decided by Secretary of State
SANDUSKY — The Erie County Elections Board failed to approve putting county Treasurer Caleb Stidham’s name on the fall ballot in the 89th House District race Friday, sending the question to Secretary of State Frank LaRose to resolve.
The board voted 2-2—along party lines—on the question of putting Stidham’s name on the ballot to replace state Rep. D.J. Swearingen as the Republican Party nominee for the 89th House District seat. Swearingen announced earlier this month he decided not to run after winning the party’s nomination in the May primary election.
