SANDUSKY — In an extraordinary public statement shared to social media, Emily Voegle issued an open, heart-felt, faith-based appeal to her daughter, Ashli Ford, urging her to halt her ongoing public crusades and confront the reality of her own personal and legal conduct.
Ford has built a social media platform around public false accusations, online “whistleblowing,” and targeting local officials, law enforcement agencies, and private citizens, according to police, prosecutors and her critics.
Voegle’s letter shifts the spotlight back onto Ford’s own history—a trajectory marked by severe legal dockets and personal controversies across Erie and surrounding counties.
Over recent years, public records and court dockets have detailed significant allegations and charges surrounding Ford. In 2025, Ford was indicted on multiple criminal counts, including felony intimidation, extortion, and mortgage fraud. Court proceedings and public records have further detailed allegations of financial dishonesty—including using her ex-husband’s identity and misrepresenting his income to secure COVID-19 relief funds, making false representations on loan documents to refinance her home following years of mortgage non-payment, and marital infidelities resulting in moving a boyfriend into the marital home.
