KELLEYS ISLAND — Flash flood warning continue today throughout the area after more than a foot of rain fell overnight Sunday in some areas.
Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible at least until 6 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, in Erie, Huron, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wood counties.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Showers and thunderstorms with periods of torrential rain rates will continue to occasionally affect the area through this afternoon. Rain rates of greater than 2 inches per hour are possible with thunderstorms, which can quickly result in flooding in prone areas. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.
