BRONSON TWP. — A Monroeville teenager was involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash Monday night in Huron County that claimed the life of a Greenwich man, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:29 p.m. at the intersection of Peru Olena Road and Old State Road in Bronson Township.
According to state troopers, 18-year-old Spencer Brotzki of Monroeville was driving a 2012 Ford F-350 westbound on Peru Olena Road. Timothy Williams, 49, of Greenwich, was traveling southbound on Old State Road in a 2016 Dodge Ram 3500.
On-scene evidence indicates Brotzki failed to stop at the posted stop sign, striking Williams’ truck on the driver’s side, the Patrol said. Both vehicles traveled off the southwest corner of the intersection, where Williams’ vehicle also struck two traffic signposts.
Williams suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Huron County Coroner.
Brotzki was transported by North Central EMS to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with minor injuries.
The intersection was closed temporarily for on-scene investigation and cleanup but has since reopened to traffic.
