Huron Schools ignored student harassment complaints?

District records show no action taken after allegations of sexual misconduct by athletes

HURON — There are no personnel records on file with the Huron school district that show former McCormick Middle School principal Chad Carter was ever spoken with about sexual harassment and sexual assault complaints from students.

There also are no records in cheer coach Janet Gioffre’s personnel file indicating she was ever made aware of the complaints or counseled by administrators, despite allegations in a lawsuit that a student endured harassment and assault for three years, continuing into her sophomore year at Huron High School.
