Huron Schools mourn loss of Rita Moscioni
She was with the district for 45 years
HURON — The Huron Schools community is mourning the loss of longtime educator Rita Moscioni.
Superintendent James J. Tatman said Moscioni, who worked for the district for 45 years, praised her dedication to students and families. She was the district’s secretary and a bus driver, among other duties she carried out.
“Rita poured her passion, energy, and love into serving generations of Huron students,” said Superintendent Dr. James J. Tatman. “Her impact on this community is immeasurable, and we are all better for having known her.”
The district has offered counseling and support for students and staff, with assistance from the Erie County Crisis Team. Local businesses also stepped forward, providing food for staff.
To celebrate her life, condolence notes are being collected at the Woodlands office to be shared with her family.
Huron schools will also “Turn It Purple for Rita” on Thursday (Sept. 4), inviting students and staff to wear purple in her honor.
Moscioni’s legacy of dedication and care will be remembered throughout the district. Click here for more information from the School district.
