COLLINS — A cold case investigator from Florida is on the ground here, asking pointed questions about Fred Reer and the death of a former Norwalk man, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Paul Souslin, 38, lived in Norwalk before moving to Florida. He was a business partner of Reer’s at the time he was found dead in his Tampa-area home on Feb. 20, 2020.
The arrival of a detective from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office cold case unit on Monday provides the first concrete confirmation of an active investigation into Souslin’s death. The detective was reportedly knocking on doors in the Collins area, seeking anyone with information regarding the relationship between the two men.
