Is Put-in-Bay school employee grooming students?
Five-month investigation results in one-sentence report
PUT-IN-BAY — The Put-in-Bay school district responded to a public records request on Monday regarding a school contract employee twice accused of “grooming” students.
The only records provided with the response, however, were the employee’s contract, a job description and a notice to school board members that the employee was being investigated.
“(A school employee) is currently the subject of an informal investigation regarding allegations of grooming,” district superintendent Scott Mangas wrote, including the italics, in an Aug. 26 email to board members. “At this stage, the matter is preliminary. Should this move forward into a formal investigation, we will need to consider placing him on paid administrative leave. I will keep you informed as the situations develops. I have been in contact with our attorney.”
