HURON — Will the Ohio Parole Board release convicted killer and serial rapist Dennis Dussell from prison after a hearing this month? It could happen. It’s happened before.

In October 1974 Dennis Dussell murdered 17-year-old Jodi Auble. Dussell, an inmate at the Richland Correctional Facility in Mansfield, was recently moved to the Lorain Correctional for a parole hearing.

Dussell, now 71, was first convicted more than 50 years ago in the brutal slaying of 17-year-old Jodi Auble, a popular Huron High School senior, cheerleader, and aspiring nurse. On Friday, October 4, 1974, Jodi left her part-time cashier job, met friends to hang posters for an upcoming football game, and disappeared after dropping off the last of her friends at 12:30 a.m.
