SANDUSKY — Ex-Sandusky City Commissioner Wes Poole castigated a former city employee who complained about systemic bias she says she experienced as a city employee for nearly nine years.
“Where are the details on this discrimination complaint? What do you expect officials to do with a complaint when the complainant is no longer an employee to work with on their concern?” Poole wrote in a comment at a Stay Tuned Sandusky news story post about Tondra Frisby’s departure and comments she made in an exit interview.
Poole seemed to simply dismiss Frisby’s complaint without seeking any additional information or context.
“Throwing accusations over your shoulder on the way out the door so you can’t be held accountable for what you say should be considered but it’s kinda late with the heads-up,” he said.

Poole, like City Commissioner Richard Koonce, has known Frisby for decades. And, like Koonce, Poole hasn’t reached out and asked her about comments she wrote in an exit interview stating she would not work for the city again if offered a job, and would not recommend it for anyone. Black employees experience a different set of challenges in the workplace, Frisby said, citing several instances of that in her exit review.
