More victims of alleged molester interviewed
Convicted podcaster Ashli Ford 'not effecting investigation' of Norwalk man
NORWALK — Police interviewed a half-dozen suspected victims of a 40-year-old Norwalk man accused of molesting family members over a period of years more than two decades ago.
“It’s an active, ongoing and progressing investigation,” Norwalk police Detective Scott Hammernik said. “There are still a number of other potential victims I plan to speak with.”
Ashli Ford, the convicted podcaster who prosecutors say exploits crime victims as clickbait to generate attention for herself and revenue at social media, is a non-factor in the investigation, Hammernick said. Ford has portrayed herself as an advocate-investigator online, and began making posts at Facebook last month about the suspect’s alleged sexual abuse of family members.
