'No Kings' rally is Saturday at Sandusky Mall
Organizers anticipate 'mother of all protests'
SANDUSKY — The way Kate Rivet — and a lot of others — see it, we stand united against No Kings in America.
A planned demonstration in front of the Sandusky Mall from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday will be part of what’s expected to be largest nationwide protest of President Donald J. Trump and his policies in history.
Rivet is an organizer with Firelands Indivisible, a grassroots organization based in Erie County formed after the 2016 presidential that advocates for progressive ideals through peaceful community action
“We are asking folks to come out once again to exercise their right to free speech and to defend democracy here in America,” Rivet told StayTunedSandusky.com. “We didn’t resist the tyranny of King George during the revolution just to stand by and let someone else pretend to be a king 250 years later.”
The Firelands Indivisible No Kings rally will be at the entrance to the Sandusky Mall.
In Ohio
In Ohio, over 90 peaceful demonstrations are planned, including locations such as Cincinnati, Toledo, Cleveland, Canton, Mason, Florence, West Chester, and Loveland. These events are organized by a coalition of more than 200 progressive organizations, including the ACLU, Indivisible, SEIU, and the American Federation of Teachers.
Nationwide
Across the United States, more than 2,500 events are scheduled in all 50 states, from major cities to small towns, according to the Associated Press. Organizers anticipate that millions will participate in these nonviolent protests, which aim to oppose what they describe as authoritarian actions by the Trump administration, including government overreach, suppression of dissent, and threats against political opponents.
These protests follow a previous nationwide demonstration in June 2025, which drew between 2 to 6 million participants nationally, according to press reports. Organizers are emphasizing safety, legal awareness, and nonconfrontational tactics during the events.
