SANDUSKY — ODOT has confirmed a three-year construction timeline and a massive budget for land acquisition along Cleveland Road from Huron to the city, validating community fears as negotiations hit the court system.

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has provided definitive numbers and a firm timeline for the U.S. 6 Connectivity Corridor Project, confirming the widespread legal impact on property owners.

Cost of the corridor

ODOT confirmed the following financial and legal metrics from the Right-of-Way (ROW) acquisition phase:

  • Properties Impacted: 72 parcels along the corridor require negotiations for temporary or permanent easements.

  • Acquisition Budget: The dedicated budget for purchasing this land and legal access is just under $5.6 million.
