In Toledo, the warning light is flashing red: Block Communications has signaled that if a buyer isn’t found, The Toledo Blade could cease publication by the end of the year. If The Blade goes under, it would leave a major Ohio metro without a daily printed newspaper—a grim milestone once thought unthinkable for a city of Toledo’s size.
Now, word leaking out of Lorain County suggests the fallout is spreading eastward.
