When he’s in front of voters, he likes to tell them he’s ‘born in Michigan, made in Ohio.’
Jon Husted took office Jan. 22 and he seemed out of touch with members of the press here and in Washington, blaming staffing and organizational challenges after the unplanned appointment.
“We didn’t have a staff, I didn’t have an office, I didn’t have a phone number, and I didn’t have an email when I got there,” Husted responded when asked about it at an Akron Roundtable interview broadcast on Ideastream Public Media on Aug. 21.

Problems connecting with Husted’s office have not subsided, despite the senator’s assertion during that interview it’s been remedied. Husted’s office was contacted in July and August repeatedly by StayTunedSandusky.com seeking comment about his vote in favor of the Big Beautiful Bill and whether he was planning any town halls with voters.
