SANDUSKY — Erie County Democratic Party Chairwoman Amy Grubbe isn’t saying whether she plans to step down — but she’s made one thing clear: she won’t be breaking that news here.

“Quite frankly, you’d be the last person I’d share any decision about me,” Grubbe wrote in a recent email. “Do yourself — and the rest of us — a favor and enjoy retirement.”

Her curt response comes amid persistent speculation that she may exit her longtime leadership post ahead of the fall election cycle. Grubbe’s refusal to engage — publicly or privately — has left some local Democrats wondering who’s steering the ship.
