Pattakos says he's defending a prophet
Defense counsel didn't take questions about perjury charge against Ashli Ford, or her upcoming fraud trial during podcast
MILAN TWP. — At the scene of the crime, the home she mortgaged in her ex-husband’s name by pretending she was still married to him, attorney Peter Pattakos sat down on a sofa with his client, convicted podcaster Ashli Ford, and talked, and talked and talked.
Here are the some of the most misleading and bizarre claims he made:
1. CIA is against Ashli Ford, too
What he said: To explain why a local journalist like Matt Westerhold covers Ashli Ford’s legal case, Pattakos launched into a grand narrative tying local press reporting to the CIA, political assassinations, and global atrocities:
“We live in a world that’s run by the beneficiaries of JFK’s assassination, right?... Has anyone ever heard of Operation Mockingbird?... That explains the SanduskyRegister... Every day in this country, there are hundreds of thousands of people... who wake up every day and they’re paid very well to lie.”
Why it’s absurd: Framing a small-city news site covering local felony court dockets as a covert CIA propaganda operation (Operation Mockingbird) designed to cover up JFK-level deep-state secrets is pure, unhinged conspiracy logic. Local beat reporters cover local court cases because they are public news, not because they are taking orders from Langley.
