PERKINS TWP. — Sandusky Speedway, a race track nestled off West Perkins Avenue, went dark this month with the last lap of the last race Oct. 5. In just two weeks, the 31-acre property will be auctioned to the highest bidder.

“With decades of history, prime location and endless potential, Sandusky Speedway is ready for its next chapter,” a promotion from Karen Rose Auction Co. states.

Kevin and Bev Jaycox purchased Sandusky Speedway from Don Arnold in 2015 and are the current owners. The track, at 614 West Perkins Ave., has been in operation since 1951 and has seen other ownership and operational changes throughout its history.
