SANDUSKY — The new 89th House District representative come next year will be returning to old stomping grounds.
Caleb Stidham overcame a blue wave Tuesday, winning election by a 55-45% margin to defeat his Democratic opponent Easton Retzke. The unofficial vote total is 17,244 to 14,270, according to the Erie County Board of Elections.
Stidham, the elected county treasurer the last five years, takes office in January. While he was a college student, Stidham interned in 89th District Rep. Steve Arndt’s office, and he’s worked closely with the office in his role as county Republican chairman.
