SANDUSKY — The U.S. Marshals Service announced today the name of the man suspected of killing 24-year-old Markier Castile on Aug. 16, but the Sandusky Police Department has declined to elaborate on the broader status of its investigation.
“Still under investigation. The second victim—an adult male—is still in critical condition,” Sandusky Police Chief Jared Oliver said Monday afternoon, following the U.S. Marshals Service’s announcement that Armani Woolfork has been added to its Northern Ohio Most Wanted list.
Woolfork, 24, is suspected of shooting Castile in the neck during a party on East Parish Street. However, according to sources familiar with witness accounts provided to investigators, two separate people were shot at the home that day by two different gunmen.
“This was two shootings: two incidents, two shooters, and two victims,” a source familiar with witness statements said.
The second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower half of his body. While Chief Oliver noted he remains in critical condition, reports received by StayTunedSandusky.com indicate he is expected to recover.
Chief Oliver declined to respond when asked if detectives are investigating Woolfork for shooting both men or strictly for the fatal shooting of Castile. He also declined to confirm whether a second suspect or a secondary crime scene is actively being investigated.
