SANDUSKY — Both prosecutors and the defense counsel are likely working to determine what worked best and what didn’t work since a jury in Ashli Ford’s felony fraud trial deadlocked two weeks ago.
With a new trial just three months away, they are likely reviewing testimony like head football coaches reviewing game films, heading into the off-season of a retrial in Erie County Common Pleas Court in just over three months.
For defense counsel Peter Pattakos, his repeated attempts at claiming his client was a victim of prosecutorial misconduct without presenting any evidence of that must have worked on some level. It was the only defense he presented, except for the testimony of his client, a convicted felon who claimed both her ex-husband and her ex-friend lied about her in their testimony.
