Two killed Friday in traffic accident ID'd
Alcohol believed to be a factor in one-car crash, Patrol says
VERMILION TWP. — Two men were killed early Friday when the car they were in failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road, crashing into roadside signs and a tree.
Rickey Morgan, 49, and Robert Senn Jr., 65, both of Vermilion, were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to the State Highway Patrol. The accident happened just after 2 .m.
Morgan was driving a 2008 Honda Accord westbound when he drove off the right side of the roadway then overcorrected, came back onto the roadway. He drove back off the right side of the road. Neither man was wearing the safety belts.
The road was closed for approximately two hours after the accident. Alcohol is a factor in the crash, the Patrol said. The accident remains under investigation.
