UPDATE: Shooter calls police

SANDUSKY — A 22-year-old man was arrested this afternoon after allegedly shooting a man walking near Warren and East Jefferson streets, Sandusky Police Chief Jared Oliver told StayTunedSandusky.com.

William Ruffin III, 22, Ruffin was a passenger in a vehicle when he allegedly shot the victim. It happened at 2:40 p.m. After getting shot the victim went to the home of an acquaintance who drove him to Firelands ER, the chief said.

“The victim suffered a single gunshot wound to his right upper arm,” he said. “His injury is not considered life-threatening.”

After the shooting Ruffin got dropped off at his residence, where he contacted police and reported the incident. He was subsequently arrested and charged with felonious assault.

Victim at Fireland

SANDUSKY — A man was shot this afternoon in the area of Warren and Monroe streets, and the shooter called police, according to a source.

The victim is being treated at Firelands Regional Medical Center suffering from non-life threatening injury.
