Walt Kapiskosky's alleged accomplices indicted
Police say owner of tow company unlawfully re-titled vehicles
SANDUSKY — Two women arrested Friday are charged with being accomplices in a years-long scheme with Walt Kapiskosky to re-title motor vehicles to unlawfully gain ownership.
Kim Bacni, 67, and Tracey Newman, 52, are each charged with engaging in corrupt activity, two counts of theft, and 14 counts each of tampering with records. Bacni and Kapiskosky have lived together in the township for about two decades. She and Newman both work in the office at Walt’s Auto Repair, Kapiskosky’s business in the township.
Kapiskosky was arrested earlier this month after an Erie County grand jury indicted him on one count of engaging in corrupt activity and 16 other charges including tampering with records and theft.
