State Senate Minority Leader says Ohioans will be watching redistricting process closely
COLUMBUS — With the September 30 deadline fast approaching, Ohio lawmakers are preparing for a contentious redistricting process that could shape the state’s political landscape for the next decade.

At the heart of that effort is Senate Minority Leader Nickie Antonio (D-Lakewood), who says Democrats are committed to engaging in good faith — but warns that national political pressure could undercut hopes for a fair outcome.
“The people of Ohio are more aware than ever of the consequences of gerrymandering,” Antonio told STayTunedSandusky.com during an interview Thursday. “We’ve been through emotionally charged fights over this before, and now we’re seeing Republicans, even at the national level, saying the quiet part out loud — that redistricting is about maintaining control in Congress.”
