Ex-student alleges sexual assaults, harassment began in middle school
Huron Schools favored boy predators. Staff didn't protect her from abuse, allowed it to continue into high school
HURON — A former Huron Schools student has filed a federal lawsuit alleging the district and several staff members failed to protect her from repeated sexual harassment and assaults, ultimately forcing her to leave the district.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court, details misconduct that began in the 2018–2019 school year at McCormick Middle School, where the girl says she endured “numerous incidents of lewd, harassing, and inappropriate attention” from male classmates.
According to the complaint, one boy groped her, forced her to touch him inappropriately, and later sent unsolicited photos of his genitalia. He is also accused of secretly taking photos up her skirt and sharing them with other students.
